Cornerstone Tea and catering is owned by Denise Simmons, a native of the Cleveland School area since 1972 when her family retired from the Air Force. Her father was a decorated soldier who gave 27 years to the military for the United States of America. With Denise's mother, Ruth, they traveled the world and raised 3 children. The store front portion of Cornerstone Tea honored Ruth, Denise's mother, with a special tea room named Ruth's Room where many socials were hosted. Denise is joined with daughter Stephanie, and son Sawyer in the business. Denise is now focusing on catering events while making the business available to travel to South Carolina, and all throughout North Carolina.
